Why we should be leaders not a boss

Andrew Miles

This is a good summary of the difference between a leader and a boss, but there is also the difference between people with passion who want to share their views and experience and a bully which is the extreme case, like in the video.

Basically surround yourself with skilled people who have the capacity to lead their own team, who also like to share and learn, because this is the category of person who is a vital part of a true team.

If you are just an employee, never advancing yourself, never expressing your view in a professional way, never learning, and waiting for the end of the month for the next pay check, then you will also struggle to get anyone to pay attention to what you are working on. You will get left behind, and when this happens please don't accuse the leaders of been bosses. Everyone earns their position in life, this is not free and nothing comes from doing nothing. We create our own luck and our success truly relies on what "we" do in life. Our success is not related to anyone around us failing.

The leader is the person who encourages the best to come out of each individual and the person who has the ability to grow the team in success and objectives (focus).

Anyone in the company or office can be a leader, and if you do this well and add value the management and owners will position you hopefully where you deserve to be and the best leaders always go to the top.

At Gaiety we are looking for professional people, hyper skilled in their field who are also leaders, because these are the individuals who build strong teams and in turn strong companies.
